A four-year-old was expelled from his Florida preschool after his mother criticized the school on her Facebook page.
According to WPVI-TV, Ashley Habat was upset about how the way the school handled picture day. She said she did not realize when it was until she was dropping her son off at school.
“The administrator of the preschool checking him in, she’s like, ‘Well it’s picture day. Are you excited?’ And you know, he of course just went on to class. But I had mentioned that they didn’t give enough notice. And she’s like, ‘Well, we put it in his folder last week,'” Habat explained.
She later used her Facebook account to voice her frustrations. In the post she said she disliked the school and called some of the educators “ignorant.”
Habat, who was using her personal account, then tagged the school in the post.
In response, her son was expelled the next day and Habat received this note:
“Your relationship with Sonshine did not get off to get a very good start the first day of school. You utilized social media to call into question not only the integrity but the intelligence of our staff. These actions are consistent with sowing discord which is spoken of in the handbook you signed.”
Habat did not think the school could see the post since it was made on a private Facebook page. She said she wants her little boy back in class.
The school has not commented on the expulsion.
