Driver who hit, killed teen along I-24 pleads not guilty

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A Murfreesboro woman charged in the April hit-and-run death of a 13-year-old Boy Scout pleaded not guilty Tuesday morning.

Tina Wilson was arraigned via video conference in a Rutherford County courtroom.

She pleaded not guilty to one felony count each of vehicular homicide by intoxication, vehicular homicide by recklessness, reckless assault and leaving the scene of a fatal crash.

Wilson was behind the wheel of a car that lost control and struck Clifton Braunwalder as he changed his mother’s flat tire along I-24 in Smyrna on April 10.

Wilson didn’t stop following the collision but was later arrested.

She is next scheduled to appear in court for a discussion hearing on September 15.
