The Tennessee Titans dodged a big scare in their backfield getting veteran Shonn Greene back on the practice field Monday morning.
Greene left the preseason game in New Orleans after his right leg got folded up on at the end of a play. Greene’s had two knee surgeries since he was injured in the season opener last season. He missed five games last season and some of the off-season workouts this year after he underwent his second procedure.
The Titans are giving Greene the bulk of the first team carries so far and he has looked strong with 13 rushes for 66 yards and a touchdown.
Quarterback Charlie Whitehurst left the Saints game with a finger injury and sat out practice Monday as well, but head coach Ken Whisenhunt said Whitehurst will be fine and is expected to return to practice shortly.
