Interstate 65 in Alabama is closed Friday afternoon after a tanker truck exploded and caught on fire.
It happened just past mile marker 279, near Warrior, Alabama, about 20 miles north from Birmingham, around 3 p.m., ABC 3340 reported.
The driver was able to escape the fiery crash, though it is unclear if he sustained any injuries.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
The Alabama tanker truck fire marks the third to occur this week.
On Wednesday, a tanker carrying 8,500 gallons of fuel overturned in west Nashville causing an explosion and several smaller fires.
Friday morning, a second tanker fire occurred on Interstate 65 in Franklin. The long-time truck was killed in the fiery crash.
