Three organizations across the nation gave makeovers to abused and neglected dogs in an effort to help them get adopted.

Wahl Pets, which provides grooming services to pets with and without homes, teamed up with the GreaterGood.org, a non-profit aimed at improving the health and well-being of people, pets and the planet.

The two created the “Top Shelter Dog in America” contest.

Their goal was to raise awareness for the necessary grooming of sheltered pets and to remind the public about adoption.

One Picture Saves a Life, an organization that educates staff and volunteers on how to take high quality images of shelter pets, also helped with the campaign.
