The Titans secondary gets a tough test Saturday night as they face off against one of the best passing attacks in the NFL.
Super Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers comes to town leading the Packers air it out offense as the Titans will get a great measuring stick as to how strong their secondary can possibly be.
“That’s a good test; definitely that’s one of the better passing attacks in the league. I’m sure they’ll come out winging it around Saturday night so our guys understand that and we’ll hopefully rise to the challenge,” said head coach Ken Whisenhunt.
Echoing Whisenhunt was veteran safety George Wilson, who not only said it would be great to see the cornerback’s battle for the vacant position left by Alterraun Verner, but that playing the Packers early in the season is a good gauge of the defensive progress.
“It’s definitely going to be a good assessment for us as a team as well as a defense, you know you always want to measure yourself against a top opponent and certainly the Green Bay Packers have been one of the most efficient and productive offenses in the NFL,” he said.
The Titans open the preseason and the Ken Whisenhunt era at LP Field Saturday at 7 p.m. Watch the game live on News 2. Note: The game will not be live streamed. The game will only be shown on-air on News 2.
