Temple Hills General Manager Johan Kok started the PGA Championship with a 7-over 78 at Valhalla in Louisville, Kentucky.
Kok also had the shot of the day draining a 97-foot putt from off the green for eagle on his very first hole of the tournament.
After starting 2-under par start Kok was up and down the rest of the day. When it was over he had an eagle, two birdies, three bogeys, four double-bogeys and eight pars.
Kok has a lot of work to do in round two to make the cut for the weekend. Lee Westwood, Kevin Chappell and Ryan Palmer are all tied for the lead at 6-under par.
The Brentwood native is one of 20 course pros to earn an invitation to the PGA’s final major of the season.
