A man was seriously injured after jumping from a moving truck on Interstate 40 in Wilson County early Thursday morning.

According to the driver of the pickup truck, he and a coworker were traveling to a job when his passenger said they were not in the right place and jumped out of the truck.

A man driving in the lane next to the truck said he saw the man fall from the truck and roll down the interstate.

Emergency crews responded and transported the man to the hospital. His condition is unknown.

Three eastbound lanes of I-40 were shut down near Mt. Juliet Road. The highway has since reopened.

The victim’s name was not released.
