The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested a man accused of writing bad checks to buy a boat.

Investigators say Jimmy Chambers, 52, wrote three bad checks in March to buy that boat and other equipment for $70,000 from C&O Marine.

C&O Marine contacted Chambers by mail asking him to make his payments in late March, but he never came up with the money.

The investigation began in July, and the TBI arrested him at his home in Springfield Wednesday.

Chambers was being held on a $25,000 bond in the Dickson County jail, but he has since bonded out.
