Old Hickory Boulevard in Antioch just off Interstate 24 was shut down several hours Wednesday after a three-vehicle crash involving a car, tanker and flatbed truck. 

The crash, which closed the road from 9:30 a.m. until 8 p.m., happened near Owen Drive, just past the TA truck stop. 

The tanker truck was carrying 7,500 gallons of diesel when it went down a 20 foot ravine. 

Authorities said the diesel had to be removed from the truck and transferred to another tanker before it could be recovered from the ravine. 

The flatbed truck was carrying nitrogen tanks and other chemicals at the time of the crash. Those chemicals also had to be removed.

Authorities on the scene told News 2 the driver of the car was pinned inside of the vehicle and had to be cut out. 

The unidentified motorist was transported to a local hospital. Their condition was unknown. 

The driver of the tanker was also transported to an area hospital. 

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
