Former Vanderbilt star David Price made his debut for the Detroit Tigers against the Yankees Tuesday night. Price was traded from Tampa Bay to Detroit on Thursday.

Price went into Tuesday’s game with a 10-5 career record against the Yankees. Price gave up his first run in a Tigers uniform on a solo homerun by Brian McCann in the bottom of the second inning. He gave up another long ball to Martin Prado in the fifth before striking out the side.

Price went 8 2/3 innings giving up three runs on eight hits with 10 strikeouts. He did not walk a single batter.

The Tigers defeated the Yankees 4-3 in 12 innings.
