A man wanted in Rutherford County on charges of attempted murder was finally arrested Friday after a three-day manhunt.

Steven Akins, 27, was taken into custody in Antioch.

Akins was wanted for allegedly attacking a woman with a hammer, causing so much damage she could lose her eye.

He is being charged with attempted first-degree murder in the case.

Akins was booked into the Rutherford County jail on $250,000.

His court date was set for August 8.
