Sounds win fifth straight game

The Nashville Sounds won their fifth straight game Saturday, defeating the Oklahoma City Redhawks 8-1 at Greer Stadium.

The Sounds put up a 12-hit showing led by Sean Halton’s 2-for-4 performance that included a pair of doubles and three RBIs. Catcher Shawn Zarraga also went 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

Nashville starter Donovan Hand gave another strong performance, allowing just two hits over 4 1/3 scoreless innings.

The lone Redhawk run of the game came off the bat of Carlos Perez whose solo homerun put Oklahoma City on the board in the eighth inning.

The two teams continue the series Sunday night with right-hander Michael Blazek on the mound for Nashville.
