Former Metro school board chairman David Fox enters mayoral race

David Fox, the former Metro school board chairman, has announced he is entering the mayoral race.

On Monday, Fox, 52, appointed attorney Jay Hardcastle as his campaign treasurer.

The appointment allows Fox to begin raising money for the election, which is just over a year away. He has not said how much money he plans to invest in the campaign.

Fox said he is looking forward to meeting Nashvillians as he begins campaigning.

Fox has previously worked as a business reporter.

Metro councilman Megan Barry and attorney Charles Robert Bone have also entered the race.

The winner will succeed Karl Dean, who has served as mayor since 2007.
