The Tennessee Highway Patrol in conjunction with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has arrested two men in connection to a kidnapping and murder earlier this month.
Juan Ramirez, 28, and Luis Mendoza, 40, are each charged with one count of especially aggravated kidnapping and felony murder in the death of 25-year-old Brittany Simpson of Linden, Tennessee, about 88 miles southwest of Nashville.
Authorities stated they responded to possible hit-and-run on Highway 412 just outside of Jackson, Tennessee, on July 10 when they found Simpson in the left lane of the roadway with severe injuries.
She was airlifted to a nearby hospital, but did not survive.
An investigation led authorities to Mendoza and Ramirez who they say held Simpson against her will before she was pushed or fell from Ramirez’s F150 truck on the highway.
They are both being held in the Henderson County jail without bond.
The investigation remains ongoing.
