An 80-year-old man was on his way to the lake Friday morning when he crashed his 1964 Chevy pickup truck.
It happened in the 2100 block of Couchville Pike around 5:45 a.m.
The man told police he started to slide, went off the roadway, struck a brick mailbox, spun around and struck another mailbox.
He suffered a busted lip and cut arm and was planning to go to the hospital as a precaution.
The man told News 2 he restored the pickup truck himself. The vehicle suffered significant front end damage.
One lane of Couchville Pike was closed until a tow truck responded and removed the pickup.
