JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) – Jackson police announced Tuesday that a man has been charged with beating and stabbing his father to death.
The Jackson Sun reported that police charged 29-year-old Clayton Nelson in the death of his father, 57-year-old Jeffrey Nelson.
Clayton Nelson was scheduled to be arraigned via video link Monday in Jackson City Court on a charge of first-degree murder in perpetration of theft.
Police say they were called to Jeffrey Nelson’s home on Saturday and found the man dead inside the house and his 2001 Infiniti missing.
Clayton Nelson surrendered to Nashville police Sunday morning.
