A special needs child was pulled from the shallow end of a pool just south of downtown Nashville late Tuesday morning.
It happened at the Napier Community Center just before 11 a.m.
Minutes before going under, lifeguards reported the boy had been playing in the water.
A counselor who was in the pool at the time and a lifeguard immediately pulled the child out of the water and placed him at the side of the pool where he coughed, began vomiting and crying.
The child and his two sisters are regular participants of Metro parks’ summer program.
No additional information was released.
