The Nashville Sounds defeated the Round Rock Express 5-3 Saturday despite trailing 3-0 in the third inning.
Sounds starter Johnnie Lowe went just 2 2/3 innings giving up three runs on four hits. Reliever Jose De La Torre was able to regain control of the game striking out seven and allowing just one hit in 3 1/3 innings of work. The effort earned De La Torre his first win with the Sounds.
With his team trailing 3-1 in the third, Caleb Gindl took a 0-1 pitch over the left field wall for a three-run homerun, giving the Sounds the 4-1 lead. Jason Rodgers added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth with his second home run of the year.
The Sounds will go for the series sweep Sunday at 6:35 p.m. with Taylor Jungmann getting the start against Jerome Williams.
