Nearly six thousand people took part in Nashville’s Glo Run 5K Saturday night.

The run began at 8:45 p.m. on the east bank of the Cumberland River and ultimately finished up at LP Field.

Those who participated dressed up in costumes with bright glow sticks and other glowing accessories to light up the night.

The race wasn’t timed to eliminate any kind of pressure, allowing participants to just have a good time while benefitting a good cause, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Both diseases involve cancer in the blood. The society provides support as well as informational publications and programs for those affected.

This was the third year Nashville put on a Glo Run. To learn more, visit their Web site or Facebook page.
