A Nashville man was sentenced to 70 years in prison for domestic violence related offenses.

Mark Dobson, who also goes by the name Mark Martin, will serve 100% of the first 40 years and 45% of the remaining 30.

In March, a jury found Dobson guilty of especially aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary and employing a weapon during commission of a dangerous felony.

He also pleaded guilty to domestic assault prior to the trial.

Dobson was convicted in July of 2011 for an incident involving his estranged girlfriend.

According to a press release, he entered the woman’s home and held her and her found children and gunpoint from the night until the early morning.

The next day, Dobson got into the car with his estranged girlfriend and her children while holding a gun to the victim.

They then stopped at a location where the victim took her children into the building.

She told the staff inside to call police and Dobson fled the scene.

He was later arrested for the attack on the family.
