The Nashville Business Journal found the wealthiest Tennesseans among Forbes latest list of the wealthiest families in America.
Several families in the state made the cut with a net worth in the billions.
The Haslam family takes the number one spot in Tennessee, and 62nd in the country, with a net worth of 4.3 billion dollars. The family, including Governor Bill Haslam, owns 59% of the truck-stop chain Pilot Flying J.
The second wealthiest family in Tennessee is the Ingrams with a net worth of 3.8 billion dollars. They place 68th in the country. The family owns Ingram Industries, a Nashville based company.
Hailing from Collegedale, a town just east of Chattanooga, the McKee family has a net worth of 1.4 billion dollars. Best known for their Little Debbie creme pies, the family ranks No. 147 on Forbes list.
And last but not least, the family of the late Titans owner Bud Adams ranks nationally at No. 156. The family still retains control of the NFL team.
