The Nashville Predators started prospect development camp Tuesday morning, however, not on the ice was first round draft pick Kevin Fiala.
The 11th overall pick arrived to Nashville late Monday night, so he did not receive his physical until Tuesday morning.
The rest of the prospects, however, received their physicals Monday night in order to skate on Tuesday.
Despite his delayed start, Fiala is ready to jump right in and get started with camp.
“My goal is to do a great job here, and learn the players, and to know the organization and everything, and do one-hundred-percent and try to be the best maybe.”
Fiala was a finalist for the 2014 SHL Rookie of the Year Award and became just the third player ever to participate in the Under-18 World Championship, World Junior Championship and World Championship all in the same year.
Fiala is expected to skate at camp Wednesday.
