Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Monday after a trail of footprints led them to stolen beer.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, two deputies responded to a business on Clubhouse lane late Sunday night, where an alarm was activated, and found it had been broken into and multiple bottles of beer had been taken.

They followed a set of tracks to a house nearby where Joseph Boileau, 58, yelled out and asked if they were looking for the beer a juvenile had brought him.

The deputies went to the juvenile’s home and questioned him.

The juvenile reportedly admitted to taking the beer as payment for $150 worth of marijuana he bought from Boileau.

He also allegedly told them about another burglary he committed at the business on Sunday.

Deputies took out a juvenile petition against the minor for two counts of burglary.

Boileau was arrested and charged with theft of property and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

His bond was set at $10,500.
