An 83-year-old Houston woman fought off an intruder over the Fourth of July weekend by using a stick and a pot full of boiling water.
Lillie McClendon, who turned 83 earlier this month, told KTRK-TV that she was just about to put in a load of laundry before she noticed an open window and things out of place in her home.
“I couldn’t see his face, just his eyes like that. All he was asking about was, ‘Where’s the money at? Where’s the money at?” McClendon said.
The intruder choked her while demanding to know where the woman kept her money.
McClendon grabbed a stick hit and him with it, and also had a sausage on the stove in which she used the water it was boiling in to throw on the man.
“I told him, I said, ‘What kind of momma you got that raised you up like this? You ought to be ashamed of yourself,’” McClendon told the man the man as she sent him off without what he had come for.
McClendon’s family is happy she is ok and uninjured.
