An ex-convict wanted in multiple theft cases was arrested Sunday afternoon in west Nashville.

A loss prevention employee at the Walmart on Charlotte Pike saw Deshun Harvey reportedly concealing merchandise in shopping bags and leaving the store without paying for them.

Harvey, 45, was taken into custody outside of the store.

The total value of the items he allegedly took was nearly $79.

Harvey was wanted for allegedly stealing a laptop from the TSU campus, a purse from Meharry Hospital and for robbing a room at the downtown Sheraton Hotel, all between March 26 and May 18.

His rap sheet already includes eight burglaries. Harvey received and eight-year sentence for those crimes in 2007.

He was also wanted for questioning in connection to another burglary that occurred on May 18 at Broadway’s Holiday Inn Express in downtown Nashville.

Harvey was charged with three counts of theft over $1,000, aggravated burglary, theft of merchandise under $500, criminal impersonation and violating probation.

His bond was set at $67,200.
