Sunday night David Price recorded his eighth win and received his invite to be an All-star.
Price went into Sunday’s game against the Detroit Tigers with a 3.50 ERA. He pitched eight 2/3 innings with seven hits and six strikeouts.
This was Price’s ninth straight start pitching at least seven innings. Prior to Sunday’s game, Price had struck out at least nine hitters in six straight starts.
Price has been selected four times as an All-star, and he was a manager’s choice this season. Previously Price has been selected to the 2010, ’11 and ’12 All-star games.
With this selection, Price tied former Ray, Carl Crawford with the most All-star selections in club history.
