Sounds fall to Memphis 7-5

The Nashville Sounds winning streak ended at six games with a 7-5 loss to Memphis Thursday at Greer Stadium.

The Redbirds pounded Sounds starter Taylor Jungmann for six runs on six hits in only five innings.

Memphis scored two in the first inning on a single by Peter Kozma. The Redbirds then plated four more runs in the third keyed by a two-run single from Jermaine Curtis.

The Sounds answered back with three runs in the bottom of the third on a three-run homer off of the bat of Jeremy Hermida, but Nashville simply could not complete the comeback.

With the loss the Sounds fall to 46-42 for the season. The Sounds starter a road trip tomorrow night at 7 PM in Texas against Round Rock.
