Two people were injured at the Western Kentucky State Fair in Hopkinsville Tuesday as strong storms rolled through the area.
According to the Kentucky New Era, a man controlling the Pirate Ship ride was injured when strong winds blew over the operating booth.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The other person taken to the hospital was a woman, possibly in her mid-30s.
She hurt her leg after winds knocked her down, the paper reported.
Fair officials told guests to seek shelter over the PA system just before the booth fell over.
Tuesday night’s drag racing event was cancelled due to the weather.
