The Nashville Predators struck on day two of NHL Free Agency signing veteran center Ollie Jokinen to a one-year, $2.5-million deal.
The 35-year old Jokinen was the third pick of the 1997 draft and has 317 career goals and 423 assists. He played last season in Winnipeg registering 18 goals and 25 assists.
After trading away David Legwand last season and Nick Spaling last week the Predators were still in search of another center.
While Jokinen gives them a proven veteran they are likely still searching for the first line center that general manager David Poile has said he’s looking for.
