Former Vanderbilt star David Price won for third time in his last four starts beating the Yankees 2-1 Tuesday night in New York.
The 6-6 lefthander struck out nine Yankees over seven innings and gave up just one run to even up his record at 7-7 this season.
Price has struck out at least nine batters over his last six starts in a row. He’s also dropped his ERA to just 3.50 for the season.
Price’s contract runs out after next season and his recent performances can only increase his trade value for the Rays as they contemplate the former Cy Young winner’s future with the franchise.
