A water main broke early Sunday morning just south of downtown Nashville.
The eight-inch break was caused by a pipe that split near 4th and Lafayette streets.
Since crews did not know where certain wires were under the road, they had to wait for gas, electric and phone line representatives to come to the scene before they could begin to dig.
Although the water pressure was turned off, it already caused parts of the road to buckle.
The main was fixed around 2 p.m. Sunday.
