Vanderbilt LifeFlight celebrated 30 years of service Saturday.
A special ceremony was held at the Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center Auxiliary Gym to mark the occasion.
During the event, four patients whose lives were saved by LifeFlight crews were honored and reunited with their lifesavers.
Metro Councilwoman Burkely Allen also presented a resolution passed by the Metro Council honoring LifeFlight for three decades of service to Nashville and the Middle Tennessee area.
LifeFlight started on July 5, 1984 with a single Bell 206 Long Range helicopter.
It has since expanded to five staffed helicopter bases in Middle Tennessee, an airplane and four ground ambulances.
