The Nashville Sounds scored 13 runs on 14 hits to defeat the New Orleans Zephyrs 13-0 Saturday night. The 13-run deficit is the largest since a 19-0 shutout against Colorado Springs in 2011.
Sounds pitcher Taylor Jungmann pitched seven scoreless inning to notch his fourth win with Nashville. Jungmann allowed just two hits and struck out eight in the contest.
Sean Halton matched a career-best four-hit night with two doubles and two singles. Pinch hitter Kevin Mattison contributed off the bench with a three-run triple in the seventh inning to give the Sounds the 10-0 lead.
The Sounds will look to win the series in the finale against the Zephyrs tomorrow at 6:35. Michael Blazek has the start for Nashville.
