NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Big changes are on the way for the site of the historic Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville.
While details will be revealed Thursday morning, News 2 has confirmed a major expansion project on the historical property will be announced.
Ryman Hospitality Properties is expected to detail the multi-million dollar construction project that is aimed to expand the Ryman’s footprint.
Opinions of country greats such as Vince Gill were sought as to how best how expand the facility.
First and foremost, the mother church of country music, the Ryman Auditorium itself, will not be altered.
The goal is to ultimately make access for tourists to the entire building much easier.
The announcement Thursday will come from Ryman Hospitality Properties CEO Colin Reed alongside Governor Haslam and other local officials, as well as surprise guests.
The news conference will be streamed live on WKRN.com at 10 a.m.
Ryman Hospitality Properties includes four Gaylord Resort Hotels, the General Jackson showboat, the Wildhorse Saloon, the Grand Ole Opry, WSM Radio and of course, the Ryman Auditorium.
