Two teens sustained life-threatening injuries after their vehicle flipped in a single car accident in Hopkinsville, Kentucky Tuesday.

According to police, Dean Adornato, 19, struck a rock ditch before his vehicle overturned twice before coming to a rest on Little River Church Road.

A 15-year-old male passenger, whose name has not yet been released, was ejected from the vehicle.

Authorities said neither of the teens was wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Both were airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville with internal injuries.

Police say drugs or alcohol may have contributed to the accident. Toxicology tests will be performed.

The accident remains under investigation.
