For his 18th NBA season, Tim Duncan decided to stick with the Spurs.
Monday, the team announced that Duncan would stay with his $10.3 million player option for next season.
His decision comes after winning his fifth NBA title.
During the season he averaged 15.1 points a game in 74 regular season games.
At the end of the finals, Duncan said he was uncertain about his future.
With his decision, the Spurs are now assured of three key players, Manu Ginobli, Tony Parker and Duncan.
Each of the three is in the final year of their contract.
