Springfield police are investigating after a man was shot in the arm Monday evening.
Officers received a call around 7:40 p.m. in reference to shots being fired and were then told a man arrived at Northcrest Medical Center with a gunshot wound.
Police learned 29-year-old Michel Nelson Jr. had been shot in the arm.
He was transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately known. The investigation is ongoing.
