One lane of Interstate 24 East was closed early Monday morning after a tractor trailer overturned, spilling diesel fuel.
Authorities on scene told News 2 the driver lost control and smashed into the guardrail around 2 a.m. at the Old Hickory Boulevard exit in Whites Creek.
HAZMAT teams were called to the scene to clean up the fuel.
The truck was hauling a tanker for gas, but it was empty.
The spilled fuel was from the truck itself.
The scene was cleared by 6 a.m.
It wasn’t immediately known if the driver, who was not injured, would be charged.
