For the first time in school history the Vanderbilt Commodores are heading to the College World Series Final after a 4-3 win over Texas.
Facing the Longhorns in a must win game the Dores took an early 2-0 lead but couldn’t hold onto it as Texas rallied to tie the game and wouldn’t go away.
With a 3-3 tie after 9 innings, it took until the bottom of the 10th when Tyler Campbell beat out a bases loaded grounder to score Rhett Wiseman as Vandy gets the walk-off win in the extra innings.
Hayden Stone gets the win for the Commodores after pitching 5.2 innings giving up just one run and striking out eight.
The Dores play Virginia Monday and they must beat the Cavaliers twice to claim the College World Series title.
