A final round 73 sent Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker to a 9th place finish at the U.S. Open in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
Snedeker was in the hunt after opening the tournament with a 69 Thursday and a 68 Saturday, but fell out of the lead pack with a 72 Saturday and 73 Sunday.
He finished 2-over for the championship and takes home $211-thousand.
Martin Kaymer became the first German to ever win the U.S. Open. Kaymer destroyed the field winning by eight strokes at 9-under for the tournament.
Erik Compton and Rickie Fowler tied for second at 1-under.
