The truck driver who hit and killed a Hume-Fogg student last December as she was crossing a downtown Nashville street will be able to keep his license.
Troy Devitt was turning right from Church Street onto Rosa L. Parks Boulevard December 19 when he struck 17-year-old Elena Zamora.
Devitt was charged with failure to yield resulting in death. He previously told investigators that he did not see Zamora.
On Thursday, during a court appearance Devitt learned he has to pay a $500 fine in addition to court costs.
He will be able to keep his license.
