A Maury County dog shelter went to court Wednesday where they won a zoning appeal.

Jamie Hawkins opened a kennel last September in Spring Hill called Barktopia which shelters dogs that her non-profit organization Tennessee Death Row Dogs saves from being euthanized.

With recent complaints from neighbors, Hawkins thought she would have to close the shelter down.

The issue was scheduled before the Maury County Board of Zoning Appeals Wednesday.
