A man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly doused his girlfriend and her bed with rubbing alcohol and proceeded to set the bed on fire.
Donald Brown, 35, was charged with attempted criminal homicide and aggravated arson following the incident on June 6 at an apartment building on 25th Avenue North.
According to an affidavit, the fire department arrived to the location just before Midnight on reports of a fire.
The victim, who is the one who called 911, told authorities that her boyfriend doused her and her bed with rubbing alcohol.
The victim said he then took a cigarette lighter out of his pocket and set the bed on fire.
She remained uninjured.
Police said the apartment was one of eight inside the building and 11 people were inside when the blaze broke out.
Brown was booked into the Metro jail on $300,000 bond.
