A crash involving five vehicles slowed down the morning commute on Interstate 24 Friday morning.
The incident happened in westbound lanes between Bell Road and Haywood Lane around 4:45 a.m.
Officers on the scene told News 2 there were no major injuries, but at least one person was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Most of the cars involved suffered heavy front-end damage. One had its wheel ripped off upon impact.
The details surrounding how the crash happened were not immediately known.
Traffic was shut down to one lane until the crews with the Tennessee Department of Transportation could clear a vehicle to the side of the road. An additional lane was reopened shortly after.
