After escaping in their second game at the NAIA World Series in Idaho, senior first baseman Brady North said he thought the Bulldogs could do it.

They responded with a run all the way to the NAIA World Series Championship game and won the whole thing 3-0 over host school Lewis-Clark State.

This is the third national championship for Cumberland in ten years and the third for head coach Woody Hunt.

Hunt said, “It means a lot to our program and to all the guys who played here. It means a lot to me also. This is kind of unexpected. We knew we had a pretty good club, but these guys just really gelled the last month or so and we’ve become very good, and they just never quit and we had an unbelievable grind for three weeks to do what we did, so I’m very, very proud.”

A parade and picnic will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in Lebanon to celebrate the Bulldogs World Series run.
