Tennessee’s season ends in Super Regionals

Tennessee softball fell to Oklahoma 8-2 Sunday afternoon ending its season one game shy of its seventh trip to the Women’s College World Series.

UT scored the first run of game three on Haley Tobler’s fly ball was dropped by left fielder, Destinee Martinez. Megan Greer scored from second base to give the Lady Vols the 1-0 lead.

Oklahoma led off the third inning with a home run by Lauren Chamberlain to tie the game a 1-1. They scored again on a RBI single by Erin Miller.

Tennessee evened the score in the 4th on a solo homerun by Melissa Davin. Oklahoma scored in each of their remaining frames to seal the victory.

Ellen Renfroe went six innings and allowed five runs in her final appearance as Lady Vol.
