A man in China saved a baby’s life by catching him after he fell out of a window.
ABC News reports the incident happened as a one-year-old was looking for his mother.
Spectators on the ground below watched as the child came dangerously close to falling. They then started preparing to catch him.
One man put down cardboard and a sofa to break the baby’s fall.
Another man, identified as Mr. Li, was able to catch the child just as he fell out of the window, despite the ground being slippery from a thunderstorm.
“I didn’t think too much at the time,” explained Li. “I was just afraid of failing to catch him.”
Li said it was “basic human instinct” that motivated his actions.
