Two food companies have recalled hummus, dip and walnuts over concerns of a possible listeria contamination.
Lansal Inc. pulled its hummus and dips off the shelves, while Sherman Produce recalled bulk and packaged walnuts that were sold to retailers in Missouri and Illinois.
The affected products include Target Archer Farms hummus products, Trader Joe’s 5 Layered Dip, Edamame Hummus and certain Giant Eagle hummus products sold in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio and Maryland.
Some plastic containers of Tryst Yellow Lentil Hummus with Sunflower Seeds and Apricots are also affected.
Listeria can cause serious infections and even death. The disease usually affects older adults, pregnant women, newborns and adults with weakened immune systems.
No illnesses have been reported from the recall.
The Lansal consumer question line is 877-550-0694, and consumers can contact Sherman Produce at 314-231-2896.
