The Vanderbilt Commodores are a loss away from elimination at the SEC Tournament after an embarrassing 11-1 loss to LSU Wednesday in Hoover, Alabama.
The Commodores struck first with a run in the first inning on an RBI single by Bryan Reynolds, but the rest of the game was all Tigers.
LSU (41-14-1) pounded on the Commodores for four runs in the fourth inning, keyed by a three-run homer from Alex Bregman off of Vanderbilt freshman Hayden Stone.
The Tigers added another run in the fifth, two in the sixth, and then three in the seventh to win by 10-run rule, ending the game in only seven innings.
Vanderbilt returns to action Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in an elimination game against the loser of Arkansas and Ole Miss.
